Members of our parish are working with Catholic Charities and the New American Services project to help two refugee families get settled in our area. One of these is a Somali family and then other is a Karen family. Many of us in in the Twin Cities area are familiar with the fallout of the ongoing violence in Somali that has caused so many families to seek refuge in Minnesota. The plight of the Karen people (ethnic minorities from Myanmar) is less well-known, but you can read an article in the recent edition of

about some of the Kareni who are re-settling here after facing terrible persecution in their homeland.
See the list below of items being collected to help these two families furnish their new homes. We have extended the collection period through May 7.
