Upcoming Events

Sundays Summer Choir
You are invited to sing with the Summer Choir! If you've been thinking about joining one of our music minis-try groups, but have been unable to make the commitment to evening rehearsals, this is the group for you. Here's how it works:

Come up to the church music area on any Sunday from now until Labor Day at 8:30am (for the 9am mass) or 10:15am (for the 11am mass.) Sing!

We'll provide music and the outline for the mass. You can join for one day or the whole summer; we won't ask you to sign any contracts and no audition is needed. You can bring your kids, grades 3 and up, and they are also wel-come to sing with us. The only hard and fast rule is the start time; please be ready to sing, in the music area, at the times listed above.

If you have questions, you may email Betsy Sullivan at bsullivan@strichards.com, but you are welcome to simply show up and sing!

thru Aug. 26
Understanding Grief and Loss
Coping with a death can result in stressful changes. Attempts to deny the pain and confusion of grief promote despair and loneliness. Gaining an understanding of the grief process in a caring and supportive atmosphere increases coping skills and leads to personal growth. The Bloomington-Richfield Grief Support Coalition is sponsoring a series of sessions dealing with grief and grieving.

Location: Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 2200 Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington
Contact: Pat Wilson 952-888-4621

Saturday, Sept. 18 FunFest
Mark your calendars for this year's all day FunFest on Saturday, September 18. There will be something for everyone: craft booths, bake sale, Christmas booth, fun food, music, children's activities, silent auction, and MORE.

Silent Auction could use donations: special baskets, services, tickets, etc. Call Shari Kawiecki at 612-861-1249 if you'd like to donate something.

Crafters: spaces are available. Call the office.

FunFest is the parish's largest fundraiser. We need you to volunteer. Please call the parish office at 612-869-2426 if you'd like to help.

Children's Liturgy of the Word — Sundays
At the 11:00 a.m. Mass, children are invited to come forward in the Sunday assembly after the Opening Prayer to go forth with prayer leaders to hear the stories of our faith at a level written for children. They also talk about and reflect upon what they hear Jesus saying to them in the Word, and how then to relate that to their daily life. Children return to the assembly for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Church Cleaning Help Needed — Mondays
Men and women are needed to help clean the church on Monday mornings for 45 minutes. You can work one, two, three or four Mondays a month. It's OK if you're away in the winter (or summer)! The more people who come to help, the easier it is for everyone. If interested, please call the parish office, 612-869-2426, and leave your name and phone number.
