Fr. Mark Pavlik was named pastor of Saint Richard in November of 2013, having previously been assigned to St. Olaf in downtown Minneapolis. His undergraduate degrees are in music and theater from St. Cloud State University and he attended seminary at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD and St. Paul Seminary. His pastoral experience while in seminary included serving at the House of Hope, an AIDS hospice and homeless shelter in Washington, DC, working as a tour guide and in the liturgy office of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, South Mountain Geriatric Psychiatric Hospital in South Mountain, PA and at St Charles Catholic Church in Bayport, MN. He was ordained in May 2003.
He grew up on a small farm in Maple Lake, MN and has 5 brothers and sisters and 16 nieces and nephews. Prior to Seminary, Fr. Mark lived in Manassas, VA for 5 years and worked in management for Minnesota Fabrics. He enjoys music of all sorts, travel, reading and making Ukrainian Easter eggs.
