Baptized children in grades 2 or older receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist (Holy Communion) during a scheduled Sunday Mass in May 2017, after completing separate parent/child preparation sessions that take place between March - May. The first part of the school year, parents/children prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Refer to our Reconciliation page for more information.
Families should be registered members of St. Richard's Cathoilc Church. Follow this link to our New Member Registration page if you are not registered. However, if you are a member of another parish, we request a letter from your pastor acknowledging that he is aware that your child is preparing to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist at St. Richard.
Registration Process: Registration closed for the year.
Families in preparation for sacraments must meet two requirements:
(1) the child/ren must be currently participating in a program of systematic, approved catechesis in either a Catholic school or through a parish faith formation program; and
(2) all candidates for the reception of the sacrament(s) must be enrolled in a parish process of preparation for the reception of the sacrament(s), according to Archdiocesan standards.
